Tallyn's Reach Tiger Sharks - Assistant Swim Coaches Needed

Tallyn's Reach Tiger Sharks Swim Team is looking for experienced and energetic assistant swim coaches to help lead our summer league swim team. The team is organized by a parent run board whose goal is to provide a positive team-oriented environment with an emphasis on teaching and developing the skills needed to compete in the summer season, with the end goal of fostering a love for the sport of swimming.

The Tallyn's Reach Tiger Sharks Swim Team is a member of the Mountain High Swim League and is a summer recreational swim team that practices at the Tallyn's Reach Community Pool. The team begins practicing on Monday, May 18th and finishes the season at the All Star Meet on Saturday, July 18th. The team has approximately 160 members, ages 5 to 15, ranging in abilities from rookies to seasoned veterans. There are 3 practice groups that are scheduled during the mornings from 7:00 am until 10:00 am, except for the first week of practice which is from tentatively from 5:00 pm to 7:15 pm. Swim meets are held on each Saturday during the season, excluding July 4th.

Coaching duties include creating and managing workouts for all practice groups, attending all scheduled practices and meets, assisting with meet entries (once per week) and creating relay teams using Team Unify, tracking and managing swimmer attendance, helping with pool setup, communicating with the team, ensuring swimmer safety at all times, attending team functions, and other job duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Swim Team Board.


  • Must be at least 16 years of age and able to attend all practices, meets, and team functions
  • Previous swim coaching experience is required, including junior or assistant coaching
  • Experience teaching swimming to athletes with various abilities and ages 5 to 15
  • Professional manner and appearance required at all times
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required; lifeguard certification is preferred
  • Concussion in Sports certification


Salary is commensurate with experience. This job is approximately 15-25 hours per week.

Additional opportunities may be available for teaching stroke clinics prior to the start of the season.
